Strawberry and Pineapple Smoothie – another delicious beverage (or dessert)

I don’t know if you sometimes face the same issue as me. Are you also a bit scared to try something slightly different when you like something very much?

I have recently had this problem with smoothies. I love my spinach smoothies so much that I couldn’t imagine having one without this healthy vegetable. Because what if I don’t add it and then the drink doesn’t taste great? I am sure I would regret my decision bitterly straight away 😉

But one day something terrible happened: I ran out of spinach. I did not fancy going out to buy it. Therefore, I decided to be adventurous.

Originally, I wanted to make Spinach and Pineapple Smoothie, which meant I had some pineapple. I also still had plenty of frozen strawberries from last season that had to be used to make space for this year’s crop. The combination of the two fruits plus apple juice worked fantastically – the Strawberry and Pineapple Smoothie was delicious.

Even though there was no spinach in it, this smoothie was still very healthy. Firstly, it was full of Vitamin C because both fruits are excellent sources of this nutrient. By the way, do you know that strawberries have more Vitamin C than lemons? Slightly more than 100g of these berries will already provide us with the daily recommended intake. Both fruits also have antioxidant properties which make this smoothie very health and beauty beneficial.

The discovery of the amazing smoothie with this combination of ingredients wasn’t the only one I made then. As I mentioned earlier, I had to empty my freezer, so I used frozen strawberries. Thanks to them the smoothie was much thicker, almost like a sorbet. This means that you can easily adapt the recipe and have a drink (if you use fresh fruit) or a dessert if you use frozen strawberries. But I am sure whichever option you choose, you will enjoy the result.
